Don’t miss the biblical Kishon River

When speaking of the most frequently visited Biblical sites in Israel, the Kishon River is seldom on the top 100 list. Yet, two incredible and dramatic stories from the Bible took place here.

Don’t Miss Out On Biblical Lachish

This site, though not widely known, was actually Israel’s largest city during the biblical First Temple era (aside from Jerusalem). Lachish almost always stands empty, though, even during the busiest tourist season. Allow me to explore this breathtaking gem with you now!

Part 1: Biblical Animals of Israel

Israel is rarely mentioned when discussing the top destinations on Earth for wildlife enthusiasts, with the exception of birdwatching, for which it is among the best places on on the planet. Nonetheless, Israel has been home to some of the world’s most exotic animals—worthy of any safari—for thousands of years, from Biblical times until quite recently!

Part 3: Visiting the Jordan River

Today we are visiting one of my favorite sites: Qasr El Yehud on the Jordan River, by far the most mentioned body of water in the bible (181 times). According to tradition, this is the exact spot where Joshua and the Children of Israel entered the holy land.

Part 2: Experiencing Mount Nebo (from Israel!)

Jordan’s best Biblical sites can be experienced WITHOUT ever leaving Israel.  Today, we will explore a site so important that the Torah, the Five Books of Moses, ends with it and the Book of Joshua begins in that area.  Of course, I am talking about Mount Nebo!

Part 1: Biblical Gilead Mountains, Jabbok River, and Jordan Valley

Today, we will leave Jerusalem and head north along highway 90, on route to Tiberias.  On the way, we will stop at the IDF Jordan Valley war monument which is merely a few kilometers from the border.  This area offers a panoramic view of a large section of Jordan, specifically the Biblical Gilead mountains and Jabbok River.

Breathtaking Biblical Mount Ebal

Today we are visiting Mount Ebal, a special biblical site (whose structure is mentioned explicitly in the Bible). This site is breathtaking, but seldom visited.

A Mosaic Treasure at Ein Gedi!

The Oasis of Ein Gedi, a site mentioned many times in the Bible, is one of Israel’s most visited sites. Today however, we will venture off the beaten track, and explore one of Ein Gedi’s lesser known sites: the Ancient, Talmudic Synagogue.
