A decision to deny a satanic after-school program at a school in Pennsylvania ignites a discussion over what the Satanic Temple considers religious discrimination and freedom.
Co-founder of the Satanic Temple Lucien Greaves and a Houston pastor discuss their views on the decision.
Greaves said that he would make the after-school club fun, noting: “Children weren’t really interested in jumping into a degree-type program after class, and we’re more interested, probably and having fun and playing games or whatever. So we went opted for a more self-directed learning curriculum where we have games and activities and trained volunteers who can help guide the Children through lessons.”
When asked why he calls it the Satan after-school program after claiming that they don’t promote devil worship, Greaves replied that he wants “redemption” for the Satanic name.
