Something extraordinary just happened on the Temple Mount, and most of the world missed it. This Rosh Hashanah, Jewish worshippers on Judaism’s holiest site heard the shofar and the silver trumpets blown together, the same way the priests sounded them in the days of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Is the Third Temple closer than anyone imagined?
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz of Israel365 News sits down with Akiva Ariel, CEO of Beyadenu, the organization guiding Jews back to the Temple Mount, for an inside report on the High Holidays. Akiva reveals how Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount has transformed in a single year. Worshippers now pray from approved prayer books, wear prayer shawls on the Mount, and bow fully on the stones, a practice denied to the Jewish people for nearly two thousand years. On Yom Kippur, a full congregation prayed for hours. According to Akiva, Arab media reported that Israeli police blocked them from filming the Jewish worshippers.
Then came Sukkot. Beyadenu reports about 9,000 Jewish visitors over the holiday and a record 2,500 in a single day. Worshippers brought the four species, the lulav and etrog, onto the Temple Mount. Annual Jewish visits have more than doubled since before the pandemic, and a recent survey found most Israelis now support building the Temple.
Bible prophecy speaks of a day when the House of God will be a house of prayer for all nations (Isaiah 56:7). Adam and Akiva explain why this awakening is coming from the people themselves, what it means for the final redemption and the coming of the Messiah, and why Christians who love Israel and the Bible should be watching Jerusalem right now.
