About 80 years ago, the Chabad Rebbe, perhaps the greatest Jewish spiritual leader of the century, created a map of the exodus of the Jews from Egypt. According to the Rebbe, the Jews left Goshen, located in Northern Egypt and the splitting of the Reed Sea took place in the Mediterranean. Remarkably, the Rebbe envisioned the land of Amalek, Israel’s perennial enemy and the archetypal evil, as originating in Gaza, presaging the coastal enclave as the home of Hamas.
