The deadly flare-up in southern Syria this weekend exposes a massive flaw at the heart of President Trump’s current Middle East strategy. While Israeli jets were forced to strike Beit Jin to stop terrorists from Jama’a al-Islamiyya and a resurgent Palestinian Islamic Jihad cell, Washington is still pretending Ahmad al-Shara — a man with roots in ISIS and Al-Qaeda — is a trusted partner for “stability.” But new reports show the exact opposite: Islamic Jihad is rebuilding in southern Syria with the quiet blessing of the Syrian regime, even as the U.S. envoy insists Damascus will “help dismantle terror networks.” The facts simply don’t match the fantasy.

In this video, I break down why the U.S. approach is collapsing — and why it matters. The Israelis are holding strategic ground to protect their border and the Druze communities from jihadist slaughter. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is pushing an appeasement model that assumes economic incentives will overcome decades of radical jihadist ideology.
