Everything About a Jewish Wedding that You Didn’t Know and No Longer Need to be Afraid to Ask

This past week, a magnificent Jewish wedding took place in the hills of Judea outside Jerusalem. The bride was Avital (daughter of Genesis 123 Foundation president and Inspiration from Zion host, Jonathan Feldstein), and the groom was Eliya. Of course, every wedding is joyous, but if you’ve never been to a traditional Jewish wedding or experienced that especially in Israel, this is something truly special. There’s something remarkable in a traditional Jewish wedding which most Christians in specific, and non-Jews in general have never experienced. Because of its mission to build bridges between Jews and Christians, the wedding ceremony and vibrant dancing were livestreamed with more than 1100 people following live. (It can be seen still here https://www.youtube.com/live/jCF1sGWK…)

There are many unique aspects of a traditional Jewish wedding, including Biblical roots and customs going back thousands of years, connecting us to generations past and specifically in the Land of Israel. Even the music is Biblical. Because it’s all in Hebrew, and a beautiful blend of Avital’s Ashkenazi Jewish background and Eliya’s Yemenite Jewish background, there were Jewish friends who also celebrated and participated virtually, commenting as well about many of the traditions and answering many questions. You’ll be able to interact live and ask questions, and hear unique insight about what makes Jewish weddings so special, and this one in particular.

One of our virtual guests who spent hours commenting was Rabbi Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz is the Senior Reporter for Israel365 News, devoting tremendous time to building bridges between Jews and Christians.
