In a May 9, 2025 Friday sermon at the Chino Valley Islamic Center, Hussam Ayloush, Executive Director of Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Los Angeles chapter, urged Muslims to be politically active and to use the “privilege” that Allah gave them to influence politics and policies in America. Ayloush emphasized that American Muslims live in a country where they are allowed to criticize their government, president, and mayor, and even “say bad things about God, our Creator,” however, they are not allowed to criticize Israel. He continued: “We cannot allow them to ‘Israelize’ and turn America into a fascist country.”

Ayloush also praised Islam as “the fastest growing religion in the world, including America,” and said that during every mosque visit in Ramadan, he witnessed people accepting Islam, which he attributed to what they were seeing in Gaza.
