Prayer Denied: The Temple Mount Travesty

Shavuot (Pentecost) is one of the three biblical festivals at which the Jewish people would bring offerings to the Temple in Jerusalem. We observe the anniversary of Moses receiving the Torah, and commemorate and reaffirm it as if we were there.

Movement on the Mount

Jews and Muslims both pray at the Tomb of Samuel the Prophet outside Jerusalem, and at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. There is no reason why they cannot do so at the Temple Mount.

The Western Wall has undergone some spring cleaning in honor of the Jewish Passover holiday. Twice a year, the chief rabbi of the Western Wall and his team meticulously clean the wall and gather hundreds of thousands of notes left by worshippers in the ancient cracks.
