The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), charged with monitoring the border between Israel and Lebanon, acknowledged on Monday that the existence of four tunnel with two penetrating into Israel. UNIFIL further acknowledged that these tunnels violate UN Security Council Resolution 1701, saying they are “a matter of serious concern.” UNIFIL contacted the Lebanese government, requesting they “ensure urgent follow-up actions in accordance with [their] responsibilities.”
