This week’s beautiful Hebrew song, “A Voice Called,” by Eitan Katz, is based on a beautiful passage by the prophet Jeremiah, describing God speaking to the Matriarch Rachel. Rachel is known in Jewish tradition as having a special role in the redemption and return of her children, the Jewish people, back to Israel.

This great music video was filmed on site in Jerusalem. The song reflects God’s ingathering of exiles from the four corners of the world, citing the Hebrew words for the four directions, miz-rach, ma-a-rav, tza-fon, da-rom, east, west, north and south respectively.
