Overcoming Combat: Talking with Judy Elias from Heroes to Heroes

56:05 Min. Listen

September 21, 2022

The recent US withdrawal from Afghanistan has brought the complex reality of the 20 year War on Terror to the national consciousness. While these recent events have been difficult for all Americans, US combat veterans have had a particularly difficult time. Judy Isaacson Elias is the Founder and President of Heroes to Heroes, a non-profit organization that takes US combat veterans suffering from PTSD and suicidal ideation and transforms their lives by taking them on a journey of faith in the Land of Israel. Judy spoke to us about her own faith journey and what led her to create this remarkable program, and shared some amazing stories of combat veterans who reconnected with God - a connection which literally saved their lives. (Note: this episode was recorded on the day of the deadly suicide attack that killed 13 US servicemen just outside the Kabul airport.)
