Myths about the US industrial war machine

August 2, 2024

What is the history of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and why is it strategic? With the growing popularity of isolationism and neo-Marxism in response to the war in Gaza and the looming U.S. elections, terms like the “U.S. industrial war complex” have come to vilify our robust industrial military base and alliances abroad as “evil.”  For neo-Marxists, the strength of the U.S. military abroad is a form of neo-colonialism. Isolationists strongly believe that foreign aid abroad is a form of government corruption undermining the America First policy.

This week, Dominique is joined by Philos’ Philip Dolitsky to discuss the history and necessity of a robust U.S.-Israel military alliance.  The United States must maintain its strength abroad in a changing world order. A strong relationship with Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, has never been more important. While not evident at the surface, Israel is intrinsically linked to America’s security interests. A proper “America First” policy agenda begins with U.S. strength abroad.
