History always repeats itself, and we must learn from past patterns to prevent past failures from becoming the near-future. Israel right now is at a very prophetic time in history. The end result of the elections in Israel will be pivotal in the eyes of HaShem as to whether He will bestow blessings or cursings. We know that sinat chinam (שִׂנְאַת חִנָּם) is what caused the destruction of the Second Temple. It actually began almost 140 years earlier.
After the death of their mother, Queen Salome Alexandra, in 67 BCE, (the Hasmonean brothers/high priests) Hyrcanus II (who held the office of High Priest) and his younger, more ambitious brother Aristobulus II fought a bitter civil war over the Judean throne and high priesthood. These two rival high priests, whose civil war and competing appeals directly invited Roman intervention and led to the fall of Judea to Rome in 63 BCE.
Israel right now is already too dependent on other nations, in so many ways, finding even a “Board of Peace” with Arab countries wanting to intervene in Gaza. Israel needs to rely on HaShem and lean not on their own understanding. Any military wisdom will come from above when asked! HaShem must be the source and Israel needs to remember the brotherly covenant. My desire is that people put down their own egos and find a way to form a Unified Zionist Coalition.
Even at the dedication of the Tabernacle of Moses, the glory did not fall until Moses and Aaron straightened things out. At Mt Sinai, they were in one accord when HaShem came down. At the dedication of Solomon’s Temple, the Glory fell because Israel was unified as one. From this non-Jewish American, halfway around the world, who loves HaShem, His Torah, and His people, I pray you get it right at this crucial time in history, so that the Nation of Israel may fulfill its mission as a light to all the nations.
We know from the Torah that the LORD will wage war against Amalek in every generation. The battle you are in right now is this generation’s battle with the LORD against Amalek. This is not just any Israel war but a War of the LORD, and my question to you is the same question Joshua asked the Captain of the LORD’s host: whose side are you on?
With much fear of HaShem,
