Why are some traditional Catholic voices suddenly claiming the Jews of today are not really the Jews and that Israel has no significance? Beneath the surface, this is not a political argument but a theological crisis, as centuries-old doctrines built on Jewish exile collide with the modern reality of a sovereign Jewish people back in their land.
