Israeli soldiers and security at the scene where a Palestinian man stabbed a soldier

An Arab terrorist disguised as a photojournalist stabbed an IDF soldier on Friday at a checkpoint near Hebron. The stabbing occurred at the IDF Hazayit checkpoint at the intersection between the Palestinian village Tarqumiyah and the Israeli settlement Adora. The soldier was moderately injured and taken to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital for treatment. The terrorist was shot and killed by a senior officer at the scene.

According to reports, the Arab wore a yellow vest with “PRESS” written on it in large letters and carried photography equipment. At one point, he dropped the equipment and attacked the soldier.

It is interesting to note that Hamas TV was broadcasting live, beginning their video coverage while the terrorist was observing the IDF troops and scouting out his attack. No connection between the terrorist dressed as a photojournalist and the TV journalists has been established at this time.

This comes as a part of a wave of terror and violence in Israel that began last month that has been growing worse. The violence centers around Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. Last night, Arab vandals burned down the Tomb of Joseph near Nablus (Shechem).  Much of the Arab violence has gone unreported by the international press. In a televised speech, PA President Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel of “executing” a 12-year-old Arab boy, despite clear proof the boy being alive in an Israeli hospital. He was being treated after being hit by a car while fleeing the scene where he stabbed two Israelis, one critically.
