The recent spate of violence continued through Sunday and into Monday morning as one terrorist was killed in Jerusalem’s Old City, four Israelis were injured in a stabbing attack near Hadera, a Palestinian teenager was shot at a riot near Ramallah, and two Palestinians died as a result of a retaliatory Israeli air strike on Gaza following rockets falling in Israel’s south.
On Monday morning near the Lion’s Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, a Palestinian terrorist attempted to stab a police officer with a knife. The man approached the area from a cemetery to the north. Police officers became suspicious and asked him to take his hands out of his pockets, at which point he took out a knife and tried to stab one of the officers.
The officer, who was wearing a protective vest, was not injured. The terrorist was shot and killed by police forces.

Sunday night, a Palestinian terrorist attacked Israelis waiting at a bus stop outside Gan Shmuel, near the northern city of Hadera. After driving into the bus stop and hitting two soldiers with his car – a 19-year-old female soldier and a 20-year-old male soldier – the terrorist exited the vehicle and stabbed three people, including the female soldier he had hit, a 14-year-old girl and a 45-year-old man.
Earlier on Sunday, a 13-year-old Palestinian boy was shot and killed by Israeli forces during a violent riot at a security checkpoint near Ramallah, in which hundreds of Palestinians blocked roads and threw rocks into a nearby Jewish settlement.
Also on Sunday, a Palestinian woman, 30, and her young child were killed in Gaza when a nearby explosion from an Israeli strike targeting a Hamas weapons manufacturing facility caused their home to collapse.
The strike was in retaliation after several Hamas-launched rockets from Gaza landed in southern Israel over the weekend.
UPDATE: In the second terror attack of the day, a female Palestinian terrorist attacked a Border Police officer with a knife near police headquarters in Jerusalem on Monday afternoon. The attack took place near the Ammunition Hill light rail station, the location of several previous attacks. The terrorist was shot and remains in serious condition. The police officer was taken to the hospital in moderate condition.
