A Palestinian terrorist was shot dead by IDF forces on Saturday in the midst of throwing deadly Molotov cocktails at passing vehicles in Samaria.

Paratroopers on patrol identified two men hurling the firebombs at cars near Yitzhar, located south of Nablus. The soldiers opened fire, killing one of the terrorist and shooting the second in the leg.

The injured terrorist was immediately arrested and taken for interrogation.

The IDF told Israeli media that the particular stretch of road of Saturday evening’s incident has suffered from dozens of firebombing and rock throwing attacks in the last year alone.

Troops have been deployed to the area for some time in order to deter attacks and find the terrorists responsible for them.

Soldiers have been given approval to use live fire against anyone caught throwing firebombs.

Last week, the terrorists behind the Molotov attack that left 11-year-old Ayala Shapira with life threatening burns all over her body were indicted in military court.

The attack, which took place in December, was carried out by two Palestinian teenagers from Kfar Azzun. The pair threw a Molotov cocktail at the Shapira family, which the father, Avner, was driving.

The Molotov cocktail smashed through a window of the car, setting it immediately on fire. Avner carried his injured daughter over a kilometer on the dark road to the closest town for help.

Ayala suffered third degree burns over majority of her body. While still in critical condition, her condition is improving.
