Terrorists in Judea attacked an Israeli car traveling south of Jerusalem with a Molotov cocktail Saturday night, sending the driver to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver, an Israeli man in his 40s, was traveling near Betar Illit when his car with hit with stones and then the Molotov cocktail. The Molotov cocktail set fire to the vehicle.
Magen David Adom, Israel’s paramedic emergency service, were dispatched to the scene. Paramedics stabilized the injured driver on the scene and rushed him to nearby Hadassah Hospital at Ein Kerem for further treatment.
An MDA paramedic said that the victim suffered first and second degree burns across his body and a head wound.
IDF forces were dispatched in the area to search for the terrorists. Troops were said to concentrate their efforts near the Palestinian village of Hussan.
The attack, which occurred near the Hussan Junction in the Gush Etzion area of Judea, has been notoriously problematic over the last several weeks. Palestinian terrorists residing nearby have increasingly targeted Israeli cars and busses with stones and Molotov cocktails.
Saturday nights attack comes on the heels of an announcement by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, the military wing of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party, that they would be increasing terror attacks on Israel.
