Knesset member Gadi Yevarkan (Likud) said during a Knesset meeting on Sunday that “concentration camps are being built in Israel for 5 million Israelis without a green passport, like in Austria.”
After his statement was made, the head of the committee, Gilad Kariv (Labour) kicked him out of the meeting reports Ynet.. Kariv responded to Yevarkan’s sentiments saying: “MK Yaberko places his doubtful status as the first Knesset Member to be ejected by me.”
“I really did not want to eject him but his choice to invoke the words ‘concentration camps’ to describe the government’s policy who is fighting for the public’s health is unacceptable. We can argue, we can disagree, but we cannot make that disgraceful comparison.
“It’s a moment of shame” he added.
