Israel’s economy is recovering quickly from the covid restrictions, a new report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) states.
Army Radio reports that Israel’s gross domestic product will increase by 6.3 percent in 2021 and is expected to increase by around 5 percent in 2022.
Exports rose by over 11 percent, even though the shekel is stronger and world trade decreased, said the Army Radio report.
According to the assessment, inflation in the Jewish State will hold steady at 2 percent in 2022 and 1.4 percent in 2023.
Israel’s Finance Ministry estimates that the country’s economy will likely increase by 7.1 percent by the end of 2021 and 4.7 percent in 2022.
This may come as good news for Israel’s economy but there are still millions of Israelis who will not enjoy the fruits of this good news.
That’s because today, nearly 500,000 Israeli families live in poverty. And this Channukah, these families are in desperate need of a miracle. And so, charitable organizations like Colel Chabad are working this holiday season to provide those families with the basic food staples that they need. Colel Chabad provides these families with coupons and food stamps to purchase their holiday meals.
This important role that Colel Chabad plays in Israel’s war on poverty isn’t lost on the Israeli government. That’s why Colel Chabad is among the few non-profit organizations entrusted by the Israeli government to ensure that no Israeli family starves.
