A Hamas terrorist jailed at  Nafcha Prison in southern Israel stabbed a prison guard in his face on Monday reports Ynet.

The stabber was identified as Yusef al-Mabhouh, a resident of Jabaliya, Gaza.

The victim of the attack, Sergeant Eli Adimov is reported to be in good condition. He was initially treated at the jail’s medical clinic. He was then evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva in an effort to err on the side of caution.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Office issued a statement claiming that the stabbing was “a natural reaction to the abuse of Palestinian prisoners.”

Police investigators arrived at the prison and arrested the prisoner charging him with attempted murder. The station chief said that the prison has experienced a period of calm as of late and was unaware of any changes in behavior. They are also investigating to see if the terrorist acted alone or if it was an order from Hamas outside of the prison.

This incident came just one month after Israe365 reported a major scandal in the Israeli prison service whereby the new chief warden of Gilboa Prison revealed that before he was hired, female soldiers in their compulsory service were prostituted to terrorist inmates to please their sexual needs.
