Israelis who received their third booster shot woke up on Sunday to find out that the Health Ministry was forced to renege on their promise of an extension of their green passport.
Israel’s Ministry of Health issued a service announcement on Sunday for citizens trying to download their new green passport onto their smartphones.
“Regarding the issuance of the new green passport, due to system overload, the old green passport can still be used in the coming days” the announcement read.
“We thank you for your patience.”

The Ramzor application, which hosts Israel’s green passports has crashed less than two months after the booster vaccine was rolled out and the Health Ministry announced that those with just two injections would no longer suffice.
Israel has become the first country in the world to okay COVID-19 booster shots for immunocompromised adults.
