An Iranian backed militia, Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba (Movement of the Party of God’s Nobles), threatened America in a tweet featuring a US armored vehicle with a target around it saying “we are closer than you think.”
The head of Nujaba, Akram al-Kaabi stated that the countdown to attain Iraq’s “sovereignty” has begun. This is a reference to removing US forces according to Middle East expert Seth Franzman. Al-Kaabi claims that the photo was taken on February 2.

Although headquartered in Iraq, Nujaba is considered an Iranian proxy and receives military training as well as arms from Tehran.
Washington sanctioned Nujaba in March 2019 as part of a series of sanctions against Iran’s IRGC and pro-Iranian militias stationed in Iraq.
Washington also claims that Al-Kaabi was involved in attacks on US forces in Iraq before 2011 and has been designated as a terrorist since 2018.
