A pipe bomb that was accurately launched at an Israeli border policeman detonated between his legs. But in what can be described as none other than a miracle, the IED explodes right under his feet yet he walks away completely unscathed. The video was publicized on Saturday.
A pipe bomb is an improvised explosive device (IED), that uses a tightly sealed section of pipe which is then filled with explosive material. The containment provided by the pipe allows for simple low explosives to be used to create a relatively big explosion. This is due to the containment which causes greater pressure, and the fragmentation of the pipe itself produces potentially lethal shrapnel.
IEDs of this nature are commonly used during clashed between IDF troops and Arab terrorists in Judea and Samaria.
On Monday, Breaking Israel News reported on another IDF miracle whereby an Israeli troop was engulfed in a molotov cocktail but escaped the incident completely unscathed.
