Four Israeli soldiers were hit by a truck while on foot patrol on Saturday night near Betar, south of Jerusalem. Three of the soldiers were injured lightly. Arab claims that the incident was a road accident were supported by Likud MK Rabbi Yehudah Glick.

Magen David Adom (MDA) reported the three were lightly injured. The area of the attack is the Al Khader Junction near the Arab village of Husan.

The attacker fled the scene on foot. After an intensive overnight manhunt by Israeli security forces, the attacker, a 21-year-old Palestinian man, turned himself in. During interrogation, he said that the incident was a road accident. A video of his surrender was posted on social media.

This claim was supported by Rabbi Glick, a Temple Mount activist, who was contacted by Arab friends who live in Husan. He posted this claim on his Facebook page.

Rabbi Glick stated that the road conditions were dangerous and near-misses involving soldiers on foot patrol have occurred in the past.
The Palestinian man is known to security forces and his brother was arrested two days ago.
