An official Congressional delegation arrived in Israel on Saturday on a weekend visit to investigate the possibility of moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The delegation includes two members from the House of Representatives, Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who serves as chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, and Dennis Ross (R-FL), who was appointed Middle East envoy under former President Bill Clinton.

The delegation will meet with Rabbi Yehudah Glick, MK Likud, who said in a statement that he will  speak with them about the “unique history and political reality of Jerusalem, past and present.”

The American delegation will also meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The delegation is the first official step President Donald Trump’s administration has made towards fulfilling his campaign promise of moving the embassy.
