Attempted car-ramming terror attack in Binyamin

The IDF forces foiled two separate attacks in Judea and Samaria on Wednesday, one car-ramming in Binyamin early in the evening and another shooting attack near the Palestinian village of Aboud.

Near Kohav Ya’akov in Binyamin, the terrorist attempted to swerve his car into a bus stop where soldiers and civilians stood waiting for a bus. The soldiers opened fire and killed the attacker. There were no injuries, but some of the bystanders were treated for anxiety attacks.

Yechiel Stern, volunteer in the United Hatzalah, said: “I was at the gas station when we heard gunshots originating from the bus station. Civilians told me that the car had tried to run over pedestrians who were at the bus stop but miraculously crashed into a nearby safety pole erected there thanks to lessons drawn from previous similar attacks. It was a miracle no one got hurt.”

Later in the night, a terrorist shot at a military pillbox near Aboud, Ramallah, while in his vehicle. IDF forces fired at the terrorist who was moderately wounded. He was subsequently treated by emergency services and transferred to the Tel Hashomer hospital fully conscious. The attacker was transporting a “Carlo” gun in his car. No casualties or damages are reported to the Israeli forces.
