Shots were fired at IDF troops stationed near the southern part of the Gaza-Israel border on Monday morning, prompting the IDF to respond aggressively by shelling and destroying a Hamas military post with tank fire.

The Israeli soldiers came under fire while guarding a civilian engineering crew working near the border fence. No one was injured, and no damage was reported.

The IDF quickly retaliated, firing three tank shells at a Gaza military post held by the Hamas terror organization and demolishing it.

Other than a warning to farmers working in the area to briefly leave their fields and remain inside, no disruptions were reported.
