At a Donald Trump campaign rally in Reno, Nevada on Wednesday night, a man waving signs with disturbing messages seeming to espouse neo-Nazi views was shouted down and surrounded by Trump supporters and ejected from the event.

Brady Garrett, 25, was holding up signs during the rally that said “Research Holocaust Revisionism” and “1488”.  1488 is a combination of two popular white supremacist numeric symbols. The first symbol is 14, which is shorthand for the “14 Words” slogan: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” The second is 88, which stands for “Heil Hitler” (H being the 8th letter of the alphabet).

CBSN interviewed Garrett.

“European Americans first,” Garrett declared to the camera. After stating that he had no hate in his heart, Garrett was asked if he was a neo-Nazi, and he answered, “Somewhat.”

After shouting out racist rhetoric, Garrett told reporters he was fine with Ivanka Trump being Jewish. He then insisted the Nazis did not kill six million Jews during the Holocaust.

“We need to speak the truth,” he said.  CNN reported that Garrett said he doesn’t “give a damn” about any of Trump’s policies and only supports him because he’s “anti-establishment.”
Garrett wore a “State of Jefferson” t-shirt, referring to a movement among several northern California counties to secede from the state. The movement is in no way connected to racism or the neo-Nazi movement.
Trump supporters shouted him down during the interview, after which Garrett was escorted out of the venue by Trump security personnel.

Trump’s campaign has been plagued by accusations of Nazism, and Trump signs have been vandalized with swastikas. Donald Trump’s star on Hollywood’s walk of fame was defaced in February with a swastika.
