In an unusual scene of inter-presidential impatience, current US President Barack Obama was left waiting at the entrance to Air Force One for former President Bill Clinton.
After speaking at the funeral of Shimon Peres, President Obama seemed to be in a a hurry to get back to Washington on Friday afternoon. Bill Clinton, who was hitching a ride on his former personal plane, was intent on chatting with Secretary of State John Kerry on the tarmac. Obama, who had already shed his coat and loosened his tie, was impatient to leave, calling to Clinton from inside the plane. Finally, Obama was forced to exit the plane in order to hurry Clinton along.
“C’mon Bill, I gotta get home,” the president called out to the former president.
The incident ended on a friendly note as Clinton finally boarded, both men patting each other presidentially on the back.
