Two Palestinians attempted to carry out a car-ramming attack against Israeli security forces early Monday, according to Jerusalem Police. There were no Israeli casualties, and one of the attackers was killed.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the the Shuafat Refugee Camp in northern Jerusalem. Police said that a car driven by the Palestinians accelerated and tried to run over police and Border Police forces who had exited their base after completing their operational activities.

The forces responded by firing at the vehicle after the car ignored their warnings, said the police statement. One of the suspects was killed and the other was injured.

The wounded suspect, a  25-year-old man, sustained an injury to his thigh and was taken in light-to-moderate condition to Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital.

Palestinian media identified the dead suspect as Mustafa Namer, a resident of the nearby town of Anata. Palestinian media also reported that Israeli forces had been conducting raids in both the Shuafat Refugee Camp and in Anata overnight, firing tear gas against rock-throwers and wounding three people.

Additionally, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said Israeli forces arrested six terror suspects overnight in Judea and Samaria. Four detainees were identified as members of Hamas, and two are suspected of participating in riots against Israeli civilians and security forces.

Troops also seized a significant quantity of military equipment, according to the IDF, including pocket knives, knives and binoculars.
