It is an amazing thing how mankind when left on its own continually cycles through similar orders of events bearing the repeated fruits of death, destruction, and human degradation. Amazing to the diligent observer, and quite hidden to the oblivious self-centered “enlightened” next generation, is the smorgasbord of rhetoric, art and political movements continually offered on the lazy susan of “new delicacies” so that we find ourselves once again tasting the banquet of events and ideals that consumed the peoples of 1938 central Europe.
Once again, we read of the rise of anti-Semitism throughout the world with a disbelieving casual observance, unfelt, untouched by reality. But it’s not really our fault that our minds have been trained to forget our history by revisionist hypnotism. Our spirits have been starved to death through the lack of nutrients such as: integrity, truth, diligence, altruism and the Word of God. No, it’s not our fault that a burning synagogue is just the passing news of the day. What importance is it for us that “blood libel” is once again heard from the pulpits on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem? What can one do when our Supreme Court has decreed that even though the seat of Israel’s government is in Jerusalem, that anyone born there has no country of origin? Pass the wine, please; I’m sure that this will all blow over.
It will not blow over. The events of 1938 did not blow over. Good people of courage and integrity finally decided to put an end to the madness at the cost of millions of lives. For those of us who have maintained independent minds and have eaten the food of the Word of God, grasping onto the principles of Godly character, it is a duty to stand up, never forgetting the darkest time of our humanity, and say, “NEVER AGAIN!” We are the only ones who will stand in the gap for the nations.
This time, though, is different. The stakes are much higher, the consequences so much greater. The United States has abandoned its principles and commitments, giving in to ancient deceptive philosophies. The death of innocents and the threat of annihilation are overlooked for a cause of “higher morality” and an economic leveling of all nations which lead to a world of bondage and oppression.
This time, though, is different. Israel has its own nation, one which is strong and fully capable of defending itself. This is God’s doing. This has happened because God is a person of His word. He will see to the defense of His people.
Therefore the choice is ours. Do we choose to support the nation of Israel as it stands up against the downward spiral of the world into chaos and darkness, or do we align ourselves with those desiring to bring instability to the region of the Middle East through the use of B.D.S. (boycott, divest, sanction), terrorism and defamation?
We truly are repeating the events of 1938 again, and this time it is truly different.
It’s the same because we know what the result will be if we sit back, loosen our belts and pat our bellies in anticipation of a dessert that never arrives. It is different because the consequences are immensely more dire due to powerful weapons and a sleeping church.
It is different because this time there is a nation called Israel whose capital is Jerusalem. This time they have no need to wait to be rescued. It’s different because this time they will take the moral leadership to preempt the revolving engine of history and write a new chapter.
Whether or not it will be the same is up to us. There are only two choices. There is no longer an option to abstain. The nations of the world have taken us to the point of no return and are willing to cross that line. In order to avoid a violent chain of events, we must do something. Our silence has aided and abetted the repeat of history. It is up to us to do our part in making this time different than all of the other times. We can bring something different to the table. People of faith and honor have a wide-open opportunity to join Israel in writing a new chapter in history. We can all speak and challenge the decisions made by our leaders. We can all pray for righteousness to be established in our leaders. We can all assist the Jewish people to return to their homeland through working with both Jewish and Christian organizations. We MUST teach our children to be vigilant and discerning, always honoring the word of God and the lessons of history.
We are on the mountain top. Will you choose blessing or cursing? Will it be life or death? Do you want prosperity or destruction for the next generation? No matter what else happens, you must choose. Silence, deferment and ignorance are choices for the darkness. There is no getting away from that.
This time is different. A bright future for the world is possible.
It is up to you.
