Syrian media reported that the Israeli Air Force (IAF) attacked two Hezbollah targets Friday night. It was reported that up to a dozen IAF jets attacked the targets in the Qalamoun Mountain region on the border with Lebanon, arriving at their Syrian targets via Lebanese airspace, though reports conflicted in the precise location. There were no reports of casualties.

The Israeli military refused to comment, though if this is true, it would be the first time the IAF has operated in Syria since Russia began military operations to bolster the regime of Syrian President Assad. Last month, Israeli and Russian chiefs of staff met in Moscow and agreed to coordinate their activities in the region.

Israel has carried out several airstrikes in Syria this year before Russia entered the fray, targeting convoys believed to be transporting weapons and missiles to Hezbollah in Lebanon as well as storage facilities for long-range missiles in the Qalamoun region.
