India’s NDTV caught on camera what most journalists in Gaza are too afraid to report on.
While reporting from his hotel room, Sreenivasan Jain and his camera man witnessed Hamas fighters in Gaza assembling and subsequently launching a rocket aimed towards Israel. What makes the footage so chilling is that the entire incident took place in a residential area.
The Hamas fighters begin by assembling a tent with a blue awning, shielding their activities from watchful IAF drones monitoring terror activity in the Strip. At one point, the reporter indicates how the terrorists were “making a multitude of journeys in and out of the tent, sometimes with wires.”
The terrorists, as Sreenivasan notes, are just “meters away from our hotel” and “bang in the middle of what is a residential area full of hotels and apartment buildings.”
After the rocket was fired, Sreenivasan and his crew head to the site but are immediately warned away. He reported that he was “asked by people not to go to the location, so we’re just pulling back” due to fear of an impending IAF strike on the rocket launcher.
The rocket attack, which took place on Monday, happened just minutes before a ceasefire took effect. During that time, terrorists in Gaza launched some 30 rockets into Israel in just mere minutes.
From the report, it is shocking how the terrorists used a dense, urban environment with many civilians around to carry out their attack. Hamas has made it its policy to operate within urban areas and use Gazans as human shields against reprisal attacks.
Hamas has exploited the deaths of those it uses as shields, blaming Israel and saying that it is purposely targeting civilians. These false claims have been refuted time and again by Israel who in turn has blamed Hamas for purposely endangering the lives of innocent Gazans.
